Soaring Eagles Athletics

Elmira College offers 18 varsity athletics teams, including eight men's and eight women's teams and two co-ed teams.  The Soaring Eagles compete at the Division III level, with a strong focus on the student-athlete experience. The College seeks to establish and maintain an environment in which a student-athlete’s athletics activities are conducted as an integral part of the educational experience, and an environment that values cultural diversity and gender equity among all student-athletes and athletics staff.

A Tradition of Success

Elmira College has enjoyed a history of success since its inception. The Soaring Eagles have captured six national championships, including three in women’s ice hockey and three in cheerleading. EC’s rich tradition of success has yielded more than 80 All-Americans and a bevy of conference championships in various sports. Upon graduation, multiple student-athletes have gone on to play or coach in the professional ranks, including Mike Haviland ’90, who won the 2010 NHL Stanley Cup as an assistant coach with the Chicago Blackhawks.
